Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Overview of Subscription Plans
TripNextDoor offers three subscription tiers to accommodate different levels of usage and feature requirements:
- Free Plan: Access to basic features including community membership, trip browsing, and limited trip creation at no cost.
- Basic Plan: Enhanced features including advanced trip planning, full expense splitting, and priority support at ₹79 per month.
- Pro Plan: All Basic features plus AI-powered itinerary generation, advanced analytics, unlimited trip creation, and premium support at ₹149 per month.
All paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly recurring basis. Prices are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
2. Free Plan
The Free Plan does not require any payment. Since no charges are incurred for the Free Plan, no refund or cancellation terms apply. You may use the Free Plan indefinitely without any financial obligation.
If you are currently on a paid plan and wish to switch to the Free Plan, please refer to the cancellation process described below.
3. Cancellation Process
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time through the following steps:
- Log in to your TripNextDoor account.
- Navigate to Settings from your dashboard.
- Select the Subscription section.
- Click "Cancel Subscription" and confirm your cancellation.
Your cancellation will be processed immediately, and you will receive an email confirmation of your cancellation. No further charges will be applied to your payment method after cancellation is confirmed.
4. Effect of Cancellation
When you cancel your paid subscription:
- Continued access: You will retain full access to all paid features until the end of your current billing period. For example, if your billing cycle renews on the 15th of each month and you cancel on the 5th, you will continue to have access to paid features until the 15th.
- Reversion to Free Plan: Once the current billing period expires, your account will automatically revert to the Free Plan. You will retain access to all basic features but will lose access to premium features associated with your previous paid plan.
- Data retention: Your trip data, expense records, community memberships, and other content will be preserved when you downgrade to the Free Plan. No data is deleted as a result of cancellation.
- Re-subscription: You may re-subscribe to any paid plan at any time from the Subscription page in your Settings.
5. No Partial Refunds
TripNextDoor does not offer partial refunds for the unused portion of a billing period. When you cancel your subscription, you have already paid for the full current billing cycle, and you will continue to receive service for the remainder of that period.
This policy applies regardless of the reason for cancellation, including but not limited to:
- Voluntary cancellation by the user.
- Downgrading from a Pro Plan to a Basic Plan mid-cycle.
- Dissatisfaction with features or services.
- Reduced usage during the billing period.
6. Payment Processing
All subscription payments for TripNextDoor are securely processed through Razorpay, our third-party payment processor. Important points regarding payment processing:
- TripNextDoor does not store your payment card details. All card numbers, CVVs, and other sensitive payment information are handled exclusively by Razorpay in compliance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements.
- Razorpay supports various payment methods including credit cards, debit cards, UPI, net banking, and digital wallets. Available methods may vary.
- Payment receipts and transaction records from Razorpay serve as your proof of payment. You can access your billing history from the Subscription page in your Settings.
7. Failed Payments
If a scheduled subscription payment fails (due to insufficient funds, expired card, bank decline, or other reasons):
- We will notify you via email about the failed payment and provide instructions for updating your payment method.
- We may attempt to retry the payment up to 3 times over the following 7 days.
- If the payment continues to fail after all retry attempts, your subscription may be suspended. During suspension, you will lose access to paid features and your account will function as a Free Plan.
- To restore your subscription after suspension, you will need to update your payment method and manually re-subscribe from the Subscription page in your Settings.
- If your subscription remains suspended for more than 30 days, it will be automatically cancelled, and your account will permanently revert to the Free Plan.
8. Refund Eligibility
While TripNextDoor generally does not offer refunds for subscription payments, we will consider refund requests in the following limited circumstances:
- Technical errors: If you were charged due to a technical error or system malfunction on our part (for example, being charged twice for the same billing period, or being charged after a successful cancellation).
- Unauthorized charges: If a charge was made to your payment method without your authorization (for example, if your account was compromised and a subscription was initiated fraudulently).
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the date of the disputed charge. Requests submitted after this 7-day window may not be eligible for a refund.
We reserve the right to investigate each refund request and determine eligibility at our sole discretion. We may request additional information or documentation to verify your claim.
9. How to Request a Refund
If you believe you are eligible for a refund, please contact us by email with the following information:

- Subject line: "Refund Request - [Your Account Email]"
Please include the following details in your request:
- Your registered email address on TripNextDoor.
- Your subscription ID or transaction ID (available in your billing history under Settings > Subscription).
- The date and amount of the charge you are disputing.
- A clear description of the reason for your refund request (technical error, unauthorized charge, etc.).
- Any supporting documentation, such as screenshots of duplicate charges or evidence of unauthorized activity.
We will acknowledge receipt of your refund request within 48 hours and begin our investigation.
10. Processing Time
Once a refund request has been reviewed and approved:
- The refund will be processed within 5 to 7 business days from the date of approval.
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the transaction. The time it takes for the refund to appear in your account may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
- You will receive an email notification when the refund has been processed, including the refund amount and estimated arrival time.
- If the refund does not appear in your account within 10 business days after our confirmation, please contact your bank or payment provider first, and then reach out to us if the issue persists.
